Peace.
This is what I am ultimately seeking in life. Peace in body and peace in mind; but most importantly, peace in spirit.
To be sure, finding it can be difficult. In today's frenetic world, peace is elusive. But it's not impossible. For me, I've realized that peace can be found in strange places-- foreign, shocking, intimidating places. Cities. Forests. Sidewalks. Trains. Peace comes to me most profoundly when I'm out of my element, when I'm expecting anything and everything-- essentially, when I'm receptive and open to my immediate surroundings. It is then I realize that peace is everywhere, lurking in every reflection, and all I have to do is take it in.
From this point on, I am actively seeking peace. It's a beautiful world out there, and I'm only beginning to realize its potential and my role within it. With each new place I visit, I'm hoping that I'll be lucky enough to experience the cultural exchange with others like myself who are still optimistic, who still believe in the best of humanity-- and having a fantastic time in the process.
So whether it's a weekend climb or a tour abroad, this page is dedicated to traveling outside the box, to exploring natures and cultures outside of my own, to having FUN, and ultimately, to sharing with anyone who wishes to see where, what, and how I'm doing. This is how I am actively seeking peace.
In the words of Etty Hillesum, "we have just one moral duty: to reclaim large areas of peace in ourselves, more and more peace, and to reflect it towards others. And the more peace there is in us, the more peace there will be in our troubled world."
Thanks for visiting, and happy travels,
